NDP tax will cost Surrey residents

Under the NDP’s new employer health tax, the City of Surrey will be faced with $3.35 million in new taxes – taxes that will be downloaded onto Surrey residents.

To make matters worse, next year the City will pay both the employer health tax and MSP – a $4.7 million bill.

Faced with significantly higher tax bills, the City will have to make up those costs – resulting in higher property taxes for Surrey families.

Surrey South MLA Stephanie Cadieux raised this issue in Question Period today but Finance Minister Carole James was dismissive, failing to acknowledge the impact her government’s tax will have on Surrey residents.
